A family vacation in the Pitztal Valley is full of adventures, big and small. At the Alpinhotel Zirbenhof, you'll stay right in the heart of the mountains and enjoy easy access to numerous attractions and recreational activities.
The Rifflsee Cable Car is located directly across from the hotel. Hiking trails, cross-country ski trails, and public buses are also nearby. In winter, the ski school, the practice lift, and the magic carpet are located right behind the hotel.
Our various room categories offer families a range of options for a vacation together in the Pitztal Valley. Depending on your family size and preferred room layout, we have suitable options available—from shared rooms to accommodations spread across multiple rooms.
For our younger guests, there is a playroom with a foosball table, a chalkboard, Legos, and stuffed animals. Older children can play and hang out in the club room, which has a ping-pong table and darts.
We also like to cater to our younger guests at dinner. As part of our half-board plan, we either offer a separate children’s menu or, to the best of our ability, prepare a dish of their choice.
In the summer, the Pitztal mountains become one big adventure playground. The Rifflseebahn cable car takes you directly from the hotel up to Rifflsee. There, families can walk around the mountain lake, take a raft ride, or simply enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views.
Other popular family outings include the ZirbenPark at Hochzeiger, the XP Adventure Park in Jerzens, and the Kneipp facility and swimming lake in Stillebach. Family-friendly hiking trails, alpine pastures, and mountain huts offer additional opportunities for spending vacation days together.
During the summer, the Pitztal Summer Card is included in the room rate. It allows guests to use numerous mountain railways, recreational facilities, and attractions free of charge.
In winter, many family adventures begin right on your doorstep. The Rifflsee Cable Car takes you to the family-friendly Rifflsee ski area—with guaranteed snow—in just a few minutes. Behind the hotel, you’ll find the ski school, the practice lift, and the magic carpet. The toboggan run in Mandarfen is also located right behind the Zirbenhof.
Away from the slopes, winter hikes, tobogganing, cross-country skiing, and horse-drawn sleigh rides offer plenty of variety. This way, families can experience the Pitztal winter in a different way every day.
At the Pitztal Glacier and Rifflsee, children born in certain years can ski at a particularly low cost: For “Bambini,” the ski pass is free according to the current age-based guidelines; only a small processing fee applies. You can find the current age groups, prices, and conditions directly from the mountain railways.
On select dates, free beginner ski lessons are also offered for children ages 3 to 5.99. This offer is available to guests staying three or more nights in the Pitztal Valley. Since space is limited, early registration is recommended.
